Spelling Bee Icon

This spring the Bozeman Schools Foundation will bring community members together again for the third annual Adult Team Spelling Bee. Businesses, schools, friends and organizations can create or sponsor a team of three spellers. Competition will be intense for not only the cash prize but also the coveted bee trophy and best costume and team spirit awards.

The spelling bee will take place on March 6th, 2010 from 6:30 -10:30 p.m. at the Riverside Country Club. Distinguished judges, Master of Ceremonies and Pronouncer "Chrysti the WordSmith" will add to the fun. Prizes from local businesses and a diabolical selection of words will all contribute to the festivities.

The entry fee per team is $300. Come cheer on your friends for $20 at the door. Yummy appetizers and no host bar for all participants and audience members.

Individuals, groups, and businesses can sponsor teams. All teams and sponsors will be listed in the program. Registration and Sponsorship information below. Call 580-8305 with questions!

Nominations Now Open!

The Bozeman School District is proud to announce our new "Hall of Honor" program, to recognize those whose accomplishments and contributions to the Bozeman School District family inspire a tradition of excellence.

The 'Above & Beyond' Inaugural Honored Alumni Event will be held at Riverside Country Club September 16, 2010. The first, annual class of inductees will be presented with a bronze sculpture created by Dennis Harrington, a local artist and BHS alum. A Hall of Honor display case and memorial sculpture is being constructed in the new high school.

Award categories & criteria include:

  • Honorary Alum Award - This award recognizes a community member, not a BHS alumnus, whose contributions, service, and dedication exemplify the values of the Bozeman School District.
  • Meritorious Service Award - This award recognizes an alumnus who has achieved distinction in teaching, research, or Bozeman School District student support services.
  • Humanitarian Award - This award recognizes an alumnus whose generosity and selflessness have profoundly improved the lives of others.
  • Young Alumnus Award - This award recognizes an alumnus of the past ten years who has demonstrated exceptional achievement in a chosen field.
  • Lifetime Achievement Award - This award recognizes an alumnus whose lifetime accomplishments have made an extraordinary contribution to society.

Community, friends and family of the Bozeman schools are asked to submit application for worthy nominees by March 1, 2010. Nomination forms, as well as award purpose and guidelines, can be found below or at www.HawksAlumni.org
